May 10-11 17th Annual Sunrise Side Woodcarvers' Show, Oscoda Community Center, on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base, Oscoda.  Carvers come from all over the nation to exhibit the fine art of woodcarving.  Call for details:  989-736-3678.

July 4 4th of July Parade and Celebration.  Parade through downtown Oscoda, fireworks display at dusk at AuSable Shoreline Park.

July 26-27 10th Annual Gagaguwon Traditional Pow Wow.  Old Orchard Park, Oscoda. 
July 26-27 61st Annual AuSable River International Canoe Marathon.  Begins at dusk in Grayling and ends in Oscoda - 120 miles and 14 hours later.  For more information:  989-739-9231.
Aug. 15-17 12th Annual Paul Bunyan Festival, Oscoda.  Chainsaw carvers from around the country create intricate, detailed sculptures, Parade, Antique-Classic Car Show, Truck and Motorcycle Show, Craft and Hobby Booths, Camel Rides, Live Entertainment, Kids Games, Civil War Encampment, Food and much more.  For more information:  989-739-7322.
